The first time I, Wenche, crossed the Fehmarnsund Bridge, I fell in love. And the love has become a lasting relationship.
…I love the relaxed and friendly nature of the people of Fehmarn.
…I love when Spring colours the island green and the rape fields yellow.
...I love the lively hustle and bustle of Gold beach when surfers and kiters expect the wind to wind up and tighten their gear.
…And I love the quiet afternoon walks on the South beach or a small shopping tour or just a delicious meal in Burg.
Fehmarn reminds me of my childhood and warm summers in Norway at our family cabin. The Ferienhaus Rotdorn is built in this style - even if we have not renounced modern facilities.
I hope that you, as well, will take Fehmarn into your heart and enjoy your time at the Ferienhaus Rotdorn.
In 1998, I visited to the Fehmarn Island for the first time. They said that the wind is good up here. I was a beginner, grabbed my old surfboard and headed north. After the first windsurfing day at Gold beach, I was sure that I wanted to come back here!
Since then, I am always excited when it is time to go to Fehmarn for surfing. I also got to know the windless days. These days have also inspired me. I enjoy the sun, the rain, the snow and the storm. Fehmarn is a very special island to take a little rest.
When I made the first journeys by bike, I discovered so much beauty, from the little old houses to the large manor houses, the winding streets and paths and the various facets of the coast.
I found in many different places great and very nice restaurants and cafes. In addition, we can do so many different sports and arts here - or simply do nothing.
